This portfolio of student work shows that the student can explain the control and management of networked digital systems and the security implications of the interaction between hardware, software and users (WS5). The student explains simple data compression, and why content data are separated from presentation (WS1). They plan and manage digital projects (WS1, WS6) using an iterative approach (WS2). They define and decompose complex problems in terms of functional and non-functional requirements (WS2, WS3, WS4, WS6).
The student can design (WS1) and evaluate user experiences and algorithms (WS2, WS3, WS4, WS6). They design and implement modular programs, including an object-oriented program, using algorithms (WS2) and data structures involving modular functions that reflect the relationships of real-world data and data entities (WS3, WS4, WS6). They take account of privacy and security requirements when selecting and validating data (WS6). The student tests and predicts results and implements digital solutions (WS1, WS2, WS3, WS4). They evaluate information systems and their solutions (WS2) in terms of risk (WS5), sustainability and potential for innovation and enterprise (WS6). They share and collaborate online (WS1, WS2), establishing protocols for the use, transmission and maintenance of data and projects (WS6).
